DESCRIPTION
These extra-large stainless steel pendant light fixtures began life as marine searchlights aboard Japanese vessels in the 1970s. Today, they’ve been expertly transformed into striking vintage industrial lighting pieces — offering scale, presence and unmistakable character for contemporary interiors.
Professionally restored by hand in the UK by Loomlight, each stainless steel light is rebuilt to modern lighting standards while retaining every element of its original industrial engineering. As a statement piece of large industrial lighting, it brings a bold, rugged charm to kitchens, bars, restaurants, studios or commercial spaces.
The spun stainless steel dome features a pressed frame securing a thick tempered glass lens. Wing nuts allow the front cover to open easily for bulb access. A solid cast brass neck provides most of the weight, while the cast bronze enclosure houses the electrical connections. All cable glands and seals have been replaced, reinstating the fixture’s IP rating — making it suitable for use in bathrooms and other internal wet zones.
All lights are rewired in-house to exceed British Standards using CE-approved components. For USA orders, we fit UL-listed bulb holders. Dimensions and weights are approximate. Each fixture arrives ready for installation with a ceiling hanging kit. Drop length is measured from ceiling to the bottom of the fixture. We send 100cm drop length as standard. Import Duty & Tax
Please note that orders delivered outside of the UK will be subject to custom import & duties. All imported commercial goods are subject to customs duties and taxes based on their HS Code tariff classification.
The importer/customer is responsible for paying the duty & tax. Loomlight are not responsible for these costs. We use DHL or FedEx for worldwide deliveries and they require payment of this tax before they can deliver your order.
For further information about import duty & tax to your country, please check the courier website. We are unable to calculate the import tax on your behalf.
RETURNS
Returns
If you wish to return a product, please let us know within 14 days of delivery at hello@loomlightdesign.com and we shall organise that with you. Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective or damaged so that we can resolve the matter.
For a refund, items must be unused, returned in the original packaging and in a re-saleable condition. We will refund the product price only, once we have fully processed the return. Return shipping is at the cost of the customer.
