1950's Chrome ‘Halo’ Pendant Light by Josef Hůrka for Napako. This is the smaller version we have at 39cm diameter.
Designed in the 1950s by renowned Czech modernist Josef Hůrka for Napako, this rare chrome ‘halo’ pendant is an outstanding example of mid-century Czechoslovak industrial design. Hůrka—celebrated for his sculptural, forward-thinking lighting—produced some of the most influential luminaires of the Eastern Bloc, many of which now sit firmly in the canon of European modernism.
This model features a deeply polished chrome-plated steel dish suspended by a central rod, creating a floating, weightless silhouette when viewed in space. The underside houses a remarkable etched glass diffuser, showcasing an abstract, frost-like fern motif typical of Czech glass artistry of the period. When illuminated, the patterned lens casts a soft, atmospheric glow, diffusing light in a way that feels both architectural and decorative.
Sensitively restored by hand, the original factory finish and authentic patina have been retained, ensuring the piece remains true to its mid-century origins. This is a highly collectible Hůrka design, ideal for hotel lobbies, galleries, reception spaces, or design-led residential interiors.

RETURNS
Returns
If you wish to return a product, please let us know within 14 days of delivery at hello@loomlightdesign.com and we shall organise that with you. Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective or damaged so that we can resolve the matter.
For a refund, items must be unused, returned in the original packaging and in a re-saleable condition. We will refund the product price only, once we have fully processed the return. Return shipping is at the cost of the customer.
