DESCRIPTION
Originally manufactured by Elektrosvit, a renowned Czechoslovakian lighting company founded in 1947 in Nové Zámky, this black enamel retro industrial pendant light embodies the functional yet enduring design language of Eastern Bloc industry. Elektrosvit was one of the largest producers of technical and industrial lighting in Central Europe, supplying factories, shipyards, power plants, and railway stations across the former Eastern Bloc throughout the Cold War era.
This example features a robust vitreous enamel spun steel reflector with a rolled lip, engineered for durability in demanding industrial settings. The brushed and lacquered steel gallery houses the lamp fitting, with ventilation slots to dissipate heat during heavy use. At the top sits a polished aluminium circular junction box embossed with the Elektrosvit manufacturer’s mark, a hallmark of mid-century Czech industrial design.
These fixtures were originally designed for use with mercury vapour or incandescent lamps, chosen for their reliability and longevity in continuous factory operation. Each piece has been carefully salvaged, refurbished, and rewired by hand, making it safe for modern interiors while preserving its industrial heritage.
With its clean utilitarian form and rich provenance, this pendant makes a striking statement in kitchens, dining spaces, shops, bars, and restaurants, offering not just light but also a tangible connection to the history of European manufacturing.

Import Duty & Tax
Please note that orders delivered outside of the UK will be subject to custom import & duties. All imported commercial goods are subject to customs duties and taxes based on their HS Code tariff classification.
The importer/customer is responsible for paying the duty & tax. Loomlight are not responsible for these costs. We use DHL or FedEx for worldwide deliveries and they require payment of this tax before they can deliver your order.

RETURNS
Returns
If you wish to return a product, please let us know within 14 days of delivery at hello@loomlightdesign.com and we shall organise that with you. Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective or damaged so that we can resolve the matter.
For a refund, items must be unused, returned in the original packaging and in a re-saleable condition. We will refund the product price only, once we have fully processed the return. Return shipping is at the cost of the customer.
