DESCRIPTION
Born in 1950's Hungary, this military searchlight was originally manufactured for defence and field-operation use. Its heavy-gauge steel enclosure retains the original factory finish, complete with stencilled manufacturer’s markings that speak to its Cold War heritage. Now fully converted for interior use, the light is mounted on an authentic WW2-era tall wooden field tripod, creating a striking combination of military engineering and timeless design.
The head is positionable at the shade allowing you to direct light exactly where needed. An imposing, sculptural piece at over 2 meters tall, it is ideal for large entrance halls, bars, studios, and statement living spaces.
The searchlight was produced by EKA (Elektromos Készülékek és Anyagok Gyára), a major Hungarian state-owned electrical manufacturer active from the 1940s through the 1960s. Based in Budapest, EKA specialised in industrial-grade electrical equipment, including searchlights, signalling lamps, military and civil-defence lighting, and heavy-duty electrical components. Their products were known for robust steel construction, dependable performance, and adherence to strict Eastern-Bloc engineering standards of the period. EKA supplied equipment to Hungarian industry, public infrastructure, and the armed forces, which gives this piece its distinctive utilitarian character and historical significance.
Rewired with new CE certified or UL listed electrical components. Supplied fitted with a UK plug with an on/off switch on the braided cable.

Import Duty & Tax
Please note that orders delivered outside of the UK will be subject to custom import & duties. All imported commercial goods are subject to customs duties and taxes based on their HS Code tariff classification.
The importer/customer is responsible for paying the duty & tax. Loomlight are not responsible for these costs. We use DHL or FedEx for worldwide deliveries and they require payment of this tax before they can deliver your order.
For further information about import duty & tax to your country, please check the courier website. We are unable to calculate the import tax on your behalf.
RETURNS
Returns
If you wish to return a product, please let us know within 14 days of delivery at hello@loomlightdesign.com and we shall organise that with you. Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective or damaged so that we can resolve the matter.
For a refund, items must be unused, returned in the original packaging and in a re-saleable condition. We will refund the product price only, once we have fully processed the return. Return shipping is at the cost of the customer.
