During its post-war boom, Corby became known as “Little Scotland” as thousands of skilled workers migrated from north of the border to power the steel plant’s vast production lines. This mid century industrial ceiling light would have hung above that world of heat, noise and craftsmanship, lighting the work of engineers shaping Britain’s post-war infrastructure.

Manufactured by Simplex, a respected British lighting company known for its robust and forward-thinking industrial designs, this light fixture was engineered for reliability in demanding environments.
