A statuesque, tall 1940s British industrial tripod floor light standing at over 2 meters tall.
The cast aluminium floodlight was originally manufactured by G.E.C. (General Electric Company) salvaged from mid-century industrial environments and paired with a tall hardwood WW2 tripod. This piece combines authentic wartime engineering with refined contemporary character.
The substantial two-part polished aluminium enclosure retains its original cast markings, including the G.E.C. insignia, specification plate and flameproof certification. Its thick original glass lens—designed to withstand extreme conditions—softens illumination while preserving the rugged, functional aesthetic that defined British industrial design throughout the 1940s.
Expertly re-purposed as a floor lamp, the lighting head is mounted to a World War II wooden telescopic tripod, offering adjustable height and a superbly stable stance. The tilt-and-swivel mechanism allows the shade to be positioned with ease, making it ideal for creating dramatic directional lighting. The light fixture can be raised or lowered by an additional 50cm
This is a striking sculptural piece that blends engineering heritage with interior sophistication—perfect for living rooms, loft spaces, lobbies, studios, libraries and boutique retail interiors.

Import Duty & Tax
Please note that orders delivered outside of the UK will be subject to custom import & duties. All imported commercial goods are subject to customs duties and taxes based on their HS Code tariff classification.
The importer/customer is responsible for paying the duty & tax. Loomlight are not responsible for these costs. We use DHL or FedEx for worldwide deliveries and they require payment of this tax before they can deliver your order.

RETURNS
Returns
If you wish to return a product, please let us know within 14 days of delivery at hello@loomlightdesign.com and we shall organise that with you. Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is defective or damaged so that we can resolve the matter.
For a refund, items must be unused, returned in the original packaging and in a re-saleable condition. We will refund the product price only, once we have fully processed the return. Return shipping is at the cost of the customer.
