DESCRIPTION
This original industrial enamel green pendant light by Heyes were salvaged from a former mine in Fife, Scotland, where they once illuminated areas housing explosives and detonators. Because of the volatile materials stored within, the lights were required to be flameproof and fully sealed to eliminate any risk of escaping sparks.
Manufactured by Heyes Electrical Instruments Ltd, Manchester, this ceiling light was produced in the 1950s–1960s to meet British Standard 229 for hazardous industrial environments. It features a cast aluminium enclosure, green vitreous enamel shade, white enamel interior, and a toughened glass dome protected by a steel cage. An excellent example of vintage industrial lighting from the 1950's.
Restored and rewired by Loomlight for modern use, these vintage industrial pendant lights combine British engineering heritage with contemporary functionality. Perfect for restaurants, workshops, and feature lighting in modern interiors, they showcase the rugged craftsmanship of mid-century industrial design.
Supplied with 1 meter of ceiling mounting kit which includes a ceiling hook.
